and its conservation throughout his life. While he has strong
skills in most aspects of field ecology, Doug’s particular
expertise in ornithology. For nearly 40 years he has worked for
various branches of government and a number of non-government
organizations (NGOs) conducting biological inventories, research

- as well as internationally, in Finland and Cuba. In Cuba, he
helped train local ornithologists in techniques of bird banding,
museum specimen preparation, and participated in a collaborative
research effort examining the interaction between Cuban resident

course of more than 100 tropical and neotropial assignments, Doug
has thoroughly investigated locations including: Antigua, Barbados,
Belize (including offshore Cays), Cuba, Dominica, Grenada, Guadeloupe,
Jamaica, Martinique, Montserrat, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Trinidad

landowners and business people, as well as Government officials
and representatives from conservation organizations. Doug led

familiar with the beneficial opportunities associated with ecotourism.
Doug brings a genuine and skillful ability to interact with a
variety of stakeholders.
